18 After Ehud brought the tribute payment, he dismissed the people who had carried it.[a] 19 But he went back[b] once he reached[c] the carved images[d] at Gilgal. He said to Eglon,[e] “I have a secret message for you, O king.” Eglon[f] said, “Be quiet!”[g] All his attendants left.
